Skyframe Robotics, headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, is a leading manufacturer of carbon fiber drone frames for commercial and industrial UAV applications. Their frames are used in agriculture, surveying, and logistics drones operating in demanding environments.
Skyframe was losing contracts due to high production costs from labor-intensive manual processes. Each frame required 6 separate press operations with manual material handling between stations. Labor costs accounted for 45% of total production cost. Cycle time variation between operators led to inconsistent part quality.
CarbonForce delivered a CP-AUTO 6-station rotary automated line. Each station performs a specific operation: material loading, pre-heating, forming, cooling, trimming, and ejection. Robotic arms handle part transfer between stations. The centralized SCADA system coordinates all stations and provides real-time production metrics.
The line was commissioned in 8 weeks with full production qualification in week 10. Skyframe now produces 400+ frames per shift with only 2 operators (previously 8). Quality consistency improved dramatically with automated process control.
